Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure SQL Server Specialist with advanced technical depth across SQL Server architecture, performance, high availability, and administration. The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert capable of troubleshooting complex reactive scenarios, driving technical excellence, and collaborating effectively with both business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and secure configurations.

  • Handle SQL Server Core/Engine operations including performance tuning, clustering, Always On Availability Groups, migration/upgrade, and patching.

  • Manage SQL Server maintenance, security, and operational troubleshooting with end-to-end ownership.

  • Drive reactive scenario management — from root cause analysis to clear action planning and closure.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions aligned with client expectations.

  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, application owners, and technical counterparts.

  • Provide technical leadership in escalations, mentoring, and decision-making.

  • Support related components such as Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Azure Data Services.

  • Maintain punctuality, ownership, and professionalism in all client interactions.

  • Commit to continuous learning and completing relevant certifications/accreditations.

Required Technical Expertise

  • In-depth understanding of SQL Server architecture, concepts, and evolution across versions

  • Expertise in high availability solutions (Failover Clustering, Availability Groups)

  • Strong experience in performance optimization, migration/upgrade, security, and maintenance

  • Proven troubleshooting skills in SQL administration and reactive scenarios

  • Working knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Azure Data Services

Non-Negotiable Requirements

  • Ability to deliver immediately with minimal ramp-up or training

  • Flexibility to work in assigned shifts (no night shifts)

  • Availability for occasional weekend support based on client needs

  • Onsite presence as required for delivery or client engagement
